Job Title: Medical Cannabis Educator

Job Description: We are seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Medical Cannabis Educator to join our team. The Medical Cannabis Educator will play a crucial role in providing patients with personalized medical cannabis treatment plans, including dosing recommendations and strain selection. The ideal candidate will possess a background in medical knowledge and have excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients.

  • Provide personalized medical cannabis treatment plans to patients, considering their specific medical conditions, symptoms, and individual needs.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical records to gather relevant information for developing appropriate treatment plans.
  • Interpret medical records and utilize medical knowledge to identify potential interactions between medications and medical cannabis as needed.
  • Educate patients on the benefits, risks, and proper use of medical cannabis, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of the treatment plan.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to ensure coordinated care and alignment with patients' overall treatment.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, developments, and regulations related to medical cannabis, in order to provide accurate and current information to patients.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation of consultations and treatment plans.
  • Provide ongoing support and follow-up to patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have throughout their treatment journey.

Requirements:

  • This position requires strong knowledge of medical cannabis as used by patients for medicinal or therapeutic purposes.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a clinical discipline.
  • Strong background knowledge in the medical field, preferably with a Master's or Doctorate-level education in a clinical field (e.g., NP, DNP, PharmD, PhD, ND, MD/DO, or related disciplines).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex medical information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Empathy and compassion when dealing with patients, demonstrating a patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to interpret medical records and assess medication interactions.
  • In-depth understanding of medical cannabis, including strains, dosing, delivery methods, and potential benefits and risks.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the current legal and regulatory framework surrounding medical cannabis.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, ensuring accurate documentation and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism, respect, and empathy towards patients and colleagues.
