Job Description
Our Supply team are the team that fuels our customers, literally! Supply at Z Energy looks after the whole fuel supply chain and ensures we have what we need, where we need it.
We have a vacancy for a Ringahāpai Tumu Herenga Waka Terminal Operator to join our team based at our Timaru Terminal. This role is a great opportunity to start a new career, previous experience preferred but not essential, on the job training will be provided.

You will have the opportunity to
- Work in a close-knit team at the Terminal carrying out tasks such as: Tanker receipts (bulk fuel ship discharges), supervising delivery of fuel to vessels, tank gauging, truck loading observations, product sampling and testing, product transfers, compliance checks and forklift operations
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the Terminal is run in a safe and reliable way
- Train towards becoming a Work Permit Issuer and qualified gas tester
- Help supervise and coordinate maintenance activities and record completed maintenance tasks in Z’s maintenance system
- Provide administrative support with the day-to-day running of the Terminal. This includes daily stock inventory management, inward and outward stock movement through bulk storage tanks and purchasing activities
- Work in line with Safety and Wellbeing policies, standards and procedures
- Take part in regular training and using the skills learned to complete day-to-day activities
Qualifications
What you’ll bring to Z
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills to ensure positive relationships
- Willingness to perform some outside work in all weather
- The ability to be flexible for work after hours and on weekends as sometimes be required, however usual work hours are Monday to Friday
- A practical and hands-on nature
- Good work ethic and a great team player
- Computer literate with the ability to learn new systems
- Capable of passing regular medicals

The base salary for this role is $63,495 per annum, plus 10% bonus based on company performance, a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
