The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Corporate Services Directorate – Group Digital Office (GCS-GDO) – Platforms & Services Department (P&S) – Operations & Service Desk Division (OSDK) - Monitoring, Automation and Orchestration Unit (MAO)*
at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a Head of Monitoring, Automation and Orchestration Unit **.

This is a full time position at grade 5/6 for which the EIB offers a permanent contract.
Purpose
In this role you drive and manage the Monitoring, Automation and Orchestration Unit’s transversal IT processes, technology innovation and daily operations related to Automation, Monitoring and Scheduling following market best practises to effectively manage the EB's related technology & infrastructure.
Operating Network
You will report to the Head of Operations & Service Desk Division. The Unit is responsible for managing technology and services related to Monitoring, Automation, Orchestration and Scheduling.
Accountabilities
- Define and propose policies applicable to Automation, Orchestration, Monitoring and Scheduling following market best practises
- Provide team leadership (e.g. managing a team of specialists and external consultants, setting individual objectives, reviewing performance and providing ongoing feedback), as well as coaching and support. Manage, together with the Head of Division, the recruitment process of new staff.
- Establish and manage the resources and means necessary to achieve the formulated objectives and implement work plans for projects in assigned functional area(s)
- Manage project team resources through creation of detailed and accurate project descriptions, estimates, functional and technical specifications, schedules, timelines, and written status reports throughout a digital project lifecycle
- Lead the transformation of the Automation, Orchestration and Monitoring processes and systems from on premise to cloud solutions
- Promote agile practices and cloud transition as per IT strategy
Qualifications
- University degree preferably in computer science or related disciplines
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in managing Automation, Orchestration, Scheduling, Infrastructure and/or Applications Monitoring related technologies
- Experience or proven ability in managing or coaching people, ideally in multicultural environment or international organisations
- Experience in delivering Automation, Orchestration and/or Monitoring solution to cloud and hybrid environments
- Experience in contributing and implementing a strategic roadmap consistent with the overall organizational strategy
- Strong experience and strong technical knowledge of most of the tools and architecture of the Monitoring and/or Automation stack for example: , Application Programming Interface (API) Management, Terraform , Splunk (or other Monitoring system) and Azure Devops
- Project Management skills including agile methodologies and tools. Certifications would be an advantage
- Knowledge of “lean” process improvement methodologies would be an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*), with a good command of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage
