The Purpose
Manages the supply chain of goods and services requirements of the company, ensuring the goods and services purchased meet the operational and strategic needs of the company and ensuring costs are optimised through effective management of procurement methodologies and contract negotiation and management. Works closely with OGSS and executes all Group-led agreements on local level.Key Accountabilities & Activities
  • Develop the overall supply chain strategy for Ooredoo Kuwait aligned to the organization needs and in accordance with Ooredoo Group Strategic Sourcing (OGSS) policy & strategy.
  • Align all sourcing activities for Group-led categories and Hybrid-categories with OGSS.
  • Plan warehouse activities and operations, including upkeep / maintenance, new warehouses development and inventory management
  • Drive and oversee the conducting of periodic inventory verification to ensure adequate controls
  • Lead the development and implementation of an overall logistics plan for all purchases
  • Manage relationships with logistics providers for timely and safe delivery
  • Manage all customs clearance and other related regulatory matters
  • Constantly seeks to update own knowledge and that of others within the department in relation to industry standards
  • Ensuring the day-to-day operations are maintained in line with the required standards of Ooredoo Kuwait to deliver the highest level of service to internal customers whilst at the same time building supplier relationships to ensure that Ooredoo Kuwait suppliers become business partners.
  • Ensure materials management systems, processes and procedures are in place to improve the management of stores and warehouses to the highest standards to meet the operational requirements of the business. .
  • In conjunction with the Sr. Manager, Strategic Planning & Reporting, develops the operational budget for the unit, and is independently responsible for the day to day management of the budget to ensure the unit operates within budget efficiently and effectively.
  • Manages, motivates, and appraises staff within the unit ensuring they have in place personal objectives and goals, and individual development plans, to ensure they perform to the highest standard at all times. Lead the division to develop implement and achieve the values of company objectives.
  • Review periodic status reports and direct proper implementation of procedures and guide team for better approach to achieve improvement in the sectional work.
  • Regularly review, and gain agreement to, the Purchasing staffing structure and manning levels to ensure current and future efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Ensure Individual Development Plans (IDP) is completed for all staff in accordance with Ooredoo Kuwait Telecom policy.
  • Recruit reporting staff as required.
Requirements
  • 8- 9years’ experience in Supply Chain Management.
  • Specific knowledge in materials management within a telecoms environment coupled with a sound understanding of logistics.
  • Sound proven understanding of stock and inventory management and forecasting. MS Office
  • Computer literacy and a good knowledge of standard office software.
  • ERP (at least basic user knowledge and overview) – Oracle, SAP or similar.
  • Ariba (or similar SCM suite) knowledge highly desirable.
