Why is this role really critical to us?
We're expanding our application portfolio in the Customer Management Solutions domain with new cloud native applications. We're seeking skilled and motivated DevOps Engineers to improve and manage existing pipelines by creating secure and efficient CI/CD pipelines according to best practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, automation, and system administration, and will work closely with our development, operations, and testing teams to improve our infrastructure and deployment processes. He/she will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions that enhance our software delivery pipeline and ensure high availability of our production systems.
How will you spend your time at Vodafone?
Lead the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines- Develop and maintain automation scripts to manage infrastructure
- Work closely with development teams to integrate automated testing into the pipeline
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and ensure high availability
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- Manage and configure cloud infrastructure and services
- Mentor and train junior DevOps Engineers
- Maintain and improve the security of our systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in DevOps and cloud computing
You are just the person we’ve been looking for, if you have:
Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology or Computer Engineering- 7+ years experience of DevOps or related field
- Significant experience on UNIX/ Linux/Windows Operating system.
- Significant experience of UNIX/Linux Shell Scripting and Oracle PL/SQL
- Solid exposure to virtualisation and container technologies; especially Docker, Kubernetes, VMWare, and Hyper-V
- Highly efficient in network setups. Have low level understanding of OSI network layers, HTTP, TCP and IPAM
- Solid scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, shell scripts, Bash, Python)
- Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows and UNIX /Linux based environments
- Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ, DNS, AD, etc.)
- Solid Cloud experience, preferably in OpenShift
- Experience with CI/CD tools like VSTS to do automated builds and releases
- Experience with automation software (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, CFEngine, Chef)
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Gitlab)
- Experience with development tools, servers or services (e.g. VSTS, NPM, NuGet, GIT, etc.)
- Implements streaming analysis algorithms to generate question focused data sets (QFDs).
- Experience using Webroot, SSL and overall security experience advantageous
- Worked with some sort of distributed file system and attach to Linux instances
- Experience with Docker Swarm and/or Kubernetes orchestration
- RabbitMQ / Kafka setup and configuration
- Must have a passion for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment
- Experience on noSQL Databases Cassandra/MongoDB is a plus
- Deep knowledge of Communication (MQTT/S, HTTP/S , Web Service, Restful/SOAP, WebSocket, AMQP, TCP/IP, LWM2M/CoAP etc.)
- Experience leading a team of DevOps Engineers is a plus
- Excellent command of English
